While Mother Nature is dragging us face first into winter, my paintings (& my walls) are usually living in an eternal summer. 💜 Foxgloves grow in the heat of summer, so it only makes sense that they popped up as a part of the floral arrangements on our wedding day. 💜 Obviously, my heart’s focus was on my new husband, but I couldn’t help myself from sneaking side glances at these gorgeous beauties. 💜 Known to celebrate Creativity and Intuition, the Foxglove will forever hold a special place in my heart. 💜 I’ll have these prints & others from my Flower Meaning series available at West Elm tomorrow!!! Lol becoming my own warrior woman . . . One painting at a time. I realized today that I get in a brain fog after I have a bunch of markets & then a break. It’s almost like the break invites room for doubt or apprehension or just plain old lack of anything else to look forward to. Like I revel in the happiness & success for 5 minutes & then I’m like what’s next? (Btw I do have a pop-up at West Elm on Saturday but that’s my last event of the season!) I realized, even though I think of myself as an introvert, I still desperately need human connection to live a joyful & fulfilling & beautiful life. I’m a one-on-one kinda person that will go out of her way to have quality time. I will never say no to a friend that GETS me & I will always be around even if it means pressing pause on work. To me, connecting with you all is the most important part of this “work.” It’s my favorite part. 〰️ I blasted some tunes & put on my battle marks today (they were purple btw) because I felt the pull towards darkness & isolation & questioning, but I felt the strength today to turn around & choose vulnerability & connection over fear & isolation. And for this one day, this one choice, I am all the better . . . And if tomorrow or the next day or the next day my anxiety grabs hold, I will say “I am human and even with all of my broken pieces, I am whole.” 🧡
LOL it’s funny that I thought I would be taking the day off yesterday. Turns out I had to pack up our entire kitchen so that it could be demolished. ✌️😫
