PAINT YOUR OWN DALA ORNAMENT WORKSHOP (VIRTUAL! -I SHIP YOU THE ORNAMENT AND YOU WATCH ALONG ONLINE!)
Join Christina Persika of Persika Design Co. for a Dala Ornament Painting Workshop you can do anywhere!!
For the first time ever, I (Christina!) am offering a virtual workshop! My good friend (and professional film editor and videographer), Hanna Milos, has helped me in creating a Dala Ornament Painting Workshop you can watch online!
I will ship you some supplies and you can pick-up the rest yourself online or from your local art store.
ORNAMENT KITS WILL SHIP BETWEEN 12/12 - 12/15. (I have to make them first!) You can also pick-up locally and I will email to arrange pick-up starting 12/12.
What’s Included:
A blank terracotta clay Dala ornament, pre-cut by hand by me! (If you want more than one ornament blank, each one is an additional $20 and you can get up to four. *If you want more than four then start again at one and go from there, so on and so forth.)
A string and bead for hanging your ornament.
An instructional zine created and illustrated by me. :)
A link to the video of the workshop in which I teach my tried and true methods for painting my unique Dala Ornaments! (Filmed and edited professionally by Hanna Milos.)
There will be a QR code with the link to the video in your ornament kit, but I will also email you the link when I ship them out.
I will lead everyone through my process of painting with acrylic gouache, but you will be able to choose your own colors and patterns to make it your own!
What You Will Need:
Paint — I like to use 4-5 colors per ornament.
I use Holbein Acrylic Gouache for these ornaments, but if you’d rather not spend that much you can also use craft acrylic paint. (I do prefer Holbein gouache for the superior quality.) You can buy Holbein in a set or buy individual colors online or in art stores.
Two small round brushes — These are my favorite brushes:
A jar for water and a rag or paper towel for blotting paint and cleaning your brushes.
A paint palette — a plate will work just fine.
Please email me if you have any questions and tag me with your finished ornaments on Instagram!
No refunds after orders have shipped. If an ornament arrives broken I will send you a new one with a special gift. :) But I have only ever had one ornament arrive broken so it shouldn’t be an issue!
